Like when watching X-Files I wanted to be (and touch the butts of) Batman AND Catwoman from Tim Burton’s Batman Returns (1992). For me, my first ever crush was the very androgynous Goblin King played by David Bowie in my favourite kids’ film the Labyrinth. I didn’t know why I felt sexually attracted to both genders, I just was. I was only 8 in ‘93 (when I asked my Nan for this for Christmas - that poor lady actually had to go into the store and buy it), but I absolutely felt ways about beautiful, charismatic women being sexy up on each other.Įarly on, when I was around 4-6 years, I think I must have believed EVERYONE was ‘turned on’ (or whatever I thought ‘that feeling’ was at the time) by both boys and girls ( note: it was the 90s and I didn’t know anything different at the time, so I apologise to non-binary folks, but I am going use binary terms here as I’m speaking retrospectively).
